What Happens Next?

In the beginning, I thought writing a book would be the hardest part. But I discovered that once I began to tell my story, the words just started to flow. Then I thought publishing a book would surely be the hardest part of the process. However, because I was working with an experienced company, it turned out to be a cake-walk. Thank you Allison Denise! She is the owner of Brand It Beautifully! Kudos to you and your team for making my dream a reality. She was professional, knowledgeable, creative, patient and quick. I would not be a published author without her.

Yes, I am a published author. The title of my book is: In Control on a Wing and a Prayer. It is a fictional manuscript that is loosely based on my journey to becoming an Air Traffic Controller and eventually making history. I wrote the book hoping to inspire and encourage young people not to give up on their dreams. I also wanted to bring attention and/or awareness to a career I love and respect. A career that many, especially women, may not ever consider exploring. One that may not come to mind when you think of one in aviation. A career as an Air Traffic Control Specialist. 

Ways to Share Your Story

So the question now is, how do I get the word out? How do I share my story with the world? Because at this moment, very few people know about it. Social media is an awesome platform. However, I’m quickly learning that if you don’t have many friends on Facebook, and even less followers on Instagram, and no Twitter account, and unable to figure out Snapchat; you might need a little more than social media. So what’s an old lady to do? I’m discovering the most challenging step in this process is what happens after publishing. That step is promoting.
